I first heard "The World Is Yours" by Nas, I knew rap
was something more than just rhyming words to beats."
Inspired
by Nas @ a young age, little did Jovan Branch know that he would
soon be the next rap star.Born and raised in
North Newark,it wasn't until he moved to Union county years later
and discovered his writing talent and formed SageTheInfinite.
"I was about 16 when I started to seriously write rhymes
and form ideas and flows". Inspired
by the likes of Nas, Raekwon, AZ, Jay-z, Notorious B.I.G. etc.,
Sage has embodied the east coast style heavily in his music. "I'm
jus trying to bring the East Coast NY sound back" says the
young rapper.
Dropping
5 classic mixtapes underground, Sage is no rookie to rhymes. In
particular his mixtape "Still On Tha Low 4 Dolo" captures
Sage in his purest form moving from track to track with interviews
from the rapper to really capture his personality.
"It's kinda like a soundtrack to my mind you know, Just letting
people see through a little window inside my mind".
With
the new single Move Dat, Sage has fully crossed over
into the commercial side of HipHop, but don't think he's all commercial
just yet.
"I'm always going to put my all into my
lyrics, Im a lyricist first in its purest form, so I'm always
going to take extensive time with my lyrics".
